Who else felt disgusting after Easter? I ate way too many eggs so thought what better way to redeem myself than by quitting sugar for a week, including fruit.
My plan didn’t work out too well. I found myself eating more carbs which left me bloated, hungry and blah. I really missed eating fruit and found my body really missed the fibre that fruit provides. Apart from my Easter egg binge I discovered that I wasn’t really eating a lot of refined sugar anyway.
What I learned: refined sugar is the enemy – think soft drinks, lollies, cakes, ice cream etc. Natural sugar in moderate quantities is your friend – think fruit, vegetables and natural yogurt etc.
I’ve always been an advocate of eating everything in moderation and will be sticking to that motto in the future.
